NNL22: CROWN FC FORCED GO-ROUND FC TO 2 - 2 STALEMATE IN OMOKU TO EXTEND THE LEAD ON THE LOG.

Crown FC of Ogbomoso were yesterday forced Go-Round FC of Omoku to a 2-2 draw in their match week eighteen of the 2021/2022 Nigeria National League (NNL) Southern Conference Group B2 played at the Krisdera Stadium, Omoku, Rivers State. 

The Group B2 leader Crown Fc with full of confidence began the game well but the homers GoRound FC took the lead fourteen minute into the game from the spot after the Ajilete Warriors dependable defender Oluwole Johnson brought down the Omoku side forward in the penalty area but the Warriors save hands couldn't rescued as the first half ended 1 - 0.

As the second half began, both sides continued with aggressive movement but the home team became more ambitious and their efforts paid off in the 53th minutes when a long range shot kept Crown Fc goalkeeper Belema Mamadu unaware into the right corner of net of the Ajilete Warriors.

Crown FC got the first goal in the 69th minute through Yusuf Taiye from a goal mouth scramble through Clement Johnson solo efforts.

At 82nd minutes, Olalere Dauda placed the ball with great precision to draw level at Krisdera Stadium, Omoku from Abdulrafiu Taiwo low cross. But the homers had their hands full, as they fought hard in search of the winning goal which never came. The Ajilete Warriors also had a fair share of the chances, which were also not converted.

It was the third draw for Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso so far this season on the road, after that of Nnewi United and FC One Rocket.

Crown FC Head Coach, Coach Tony Encho commended the players and also dedicated the draw to them for their sacrifice and resilience.

He said, the Ajilete Warriors will now shift attention to their next match against Cross River side, Rovers FC in Ogbomoso.

Crown FC first on the log with 30 points, will be welcoming one of their rivals this weekend in their match week 19 at Lautech Sports Complex, Ogbomoso.
